About the role
Simply Social Care is working with a confidential, values-led children's residential care provider to recruit a Deputy Manager for a small, two-bed EBD home in Oldham.
This full-time, permanent role is suited to an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader ready to step into management. You will work alongside the Registered Manager to lead shifts, support and develop staff, maintain high-quality care plans and safeguarding practice, and help create a safe, stable and therapeutic home where young people can heal, grow and thrive.
The role offers £38,000 per annum plus £45 per sleep-in, fully funded training and a clear progression route to Level 5, enhanced annual leave, private healthcare after probation, incentives, bonuses, paid sick leave and attendance rewards.

Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day leadership and operational running of the home.
- Lead shifts, guide staff and model high-quality, child-centred practice.
- Maintain effective care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding processes and accurate records.
- Help create a safe, stable and therapeutic environment for young people.
- Support staff supervision, development and consistent practice.
- Work constructively with professionals and families in each young person's network.
Essential requirements
- At least four years' experience in residential childcare.
- Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Residential Childcare or a relevant equivalent.
- Strong working knowledge of safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience leading shifts and supporting staff in a children's residential setting.
Desirable requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, completed or in progress.
- Experience at Senior or Team Leader level in a children's residential home.
- Experience supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
